After a morning’s foray in and about the woods of Marshall Field, Ken and his foray assistants helped the novice pickers identify their fungal collections.

After introductions, new members were treated to freshly sautéed Chanterelles and a pot of Chanterelle soup that was contributed to the event from larders of FFSC members and prepared by Bill & Vernetta McGuire of the Culinary Committee. Subsequent feedback from those attending has been positive; we hope we can make this an annual event to make new members feel welcome and to encourage their participation in our activities, I.D. classes and forays.
