Rain gear prevailed for successful collections of many species for the identification lab and a plethora of fine edibles. The rain spirits teased us early Saturday with a quick hail storm and then the sun broke thru and temperatures warmed.
A happy and satisfied group convened for our traditional Saturday evening potluck and many baskets of edibles were viewed. Black trumpets, hedgehogs, yellow feet and chanterelles were abundant along with a few late season Matsutake.
Sunday saw intrepid attendees continuing their forays (rain gear again) and many were entertained on the drive home with a radio broadcast of the 49ers game.
Special thank-you to Bill and Jeri White for hosting this event and obtaining our collection permits.
